snake wine

Today I had my first Vietnamese class. To clarify, there are SIX tones! I have no idea how this is going to progress, but hopefully I will learn a few things!

 After class we ventured out to the huge market place where we found snake wine. It is a rice wine with snakes inside. The Vietnamese students told me that they also do shots that have snake blood and a beating heart that they rip out of a live snake and put directly in the drink. Supposedly snakes have medicinal qualities that help with muscle pain and headaches. Uhuh.
